Steven Deaves

Steve joined the firm in 1988 as an articled law clerk. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1993 and joined the partnership in 1996.

Steve practices in commercial transactions with a particular interest in disputes and litigation. He regularly advises clients in relation to contractual matters, employment law, property rights and building law.

In addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws, Steve was the first solicitor in Rockhampton to obtain a Master of Laws. He completed this course, like his Bachelor degree, by correspondence while still working full time.

Steve is a member of the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association. He has been an active member of the Central Queensland Law Association, holding the offices of Secretary and President. Steve has also served on the Premier's Regional Community Forum as the Law, Order and Justice representative. He is the chairman of the district rugby union judiciary.

Raised in Newcastle and then Moura, Steve completed his secondary education at The Rockhampton Grammar School. Steve keeps fit by cycling, weight training and trekking.
