Clarrisa Moore

Clarrisa joined the firm in 2007 while undertaking her dual degree of Law and Humanities at the Queensland University of Technology.

Clarrisa completed her dual degree of Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts in 2009.  In her Bachelor of Arts degree, she majored in ethics, human rights, and sociology.  She graduated university achieving honours for her dual degree.

Clarrisa was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court in 2010 and the High Court of Australia in 2011.

Clarrisa has acted in numerous rural property transactions including sales and purchases, transfers of water licenses, water allocations and road corridor permits.  Clarrisa has advised her clients in relation to various government compliance matters, particularly with the Environmental Protection Agency.

Clarrisa has negotiated numerous land-related agreements and provided advice in relation to many Renewable Energy Projects (e.g. wind, solar and hydropower projects), Carbon Offset Agreements as well as other similar projects. Clarrisa understands that no two properties are the same and each presents its own unique requirements. As such, Clarrisa understands that time is required to understand how the landowner runs their property and their business so that the appropriate advice is given, which takes into consideration the landowner’s specific requirements.

Clarrisa is accredited with QRIDA as an Approved Advisor under the Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program, meaning that Clarrisa is an approved professional advisor who is suitably qualified to provide advice on Carbon Offsets Agreements and the Land Restoration Fund. Carbon Offset Projects involve a long term commitment and it is important that landowners are appraised of the long term legal and practical considerations.

Clarrisa has extensive experience negotiating mining and resource agreements with companies including Hancock Coal, Queensland Coking Coal, Wilton Coking Coal, Fairhill Coking Coal, Xstrata, BMA/BHP Billiton, Waratah, Powerlink, Glencore, Invictus, Acciona Energy, Cockatoo Coal, Westside and QGC/OME Resources.  Clarrisa has also represented landowners and affected by the Adani Mining rail line and the proposed Hancock Coal (GVK) and Aurizon rail lines.
