James research interest is in effective communication in a range of legal contexts and his PhD thesis will investigate the role of plain language in lawyer-client interactions.

JAMES FISHER
Lawyer
James completed his secondary education at The Cathedral College and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2010. He holds graduate and post-graduate qualifications in law from the Queensland University of Technology, including degrees of Master of Laws and Doctor of Philosophy.
James advises clients in the following areas:
James has been involved in many hearings before the Fair Work Commission as well as QCAT and various Courts. He has developed a practice in Employment Law acting for both employers & employees.
He has an interest in mentoring law students and combines his role at South Geldard Lawyers with a position at Central Queensland University where he teaches in the faculty of Business and Law.
Outside the law James enjoys music and reading.
